The Maker

I'm Blake, and Whippoorwill Woodcraft began in 2020 the way many maker stories do—with a desire to create something with my hands and learn something new. My first project was a set of barn doors for my home office. They're still hanging today—imperfect, but a reminder of how much can be learned by simply starting.

What began as cutting boards and smaller pieces has evolved into a focused collection of wood goods that people use and gift every day: cutting boards, charcuterie boards, name plates, and wall letters. Every piece is made by hand in my one-person workshop. No assembly lines, no outsourcing. Just good wood, sharp tools, and the time it takes to do it right.

I've found real joy in creating things that become part of people's homes and lives—a board that anchors a dinner party, a name plate on a desk, letters on a nursery wall. The best part of this work is knowing that something I made with my hands is being used and loved by someone else.

Every project is an opportunity to learn. The pursuit of better craftsmanship drives each piece that leaves the shop.
